Waterhergebruik

Goal:

The Circular Resources System (CRS) project aims to implement a sustainable solution that digitizes and monitors production processes, particularly focusing on the cooling stage in the sterilization of the canning industry. By leveraging online multiparameter measurement systems and advanced real-time control of water quality, the project seeks to significantly reduce energy consumption, water usage, and the reliance on chemical additives. Key aspects of the solution include real-time monitoring of water quality, a web platform for remote management, and the development of a mathematical algorithm to calculate microbiological risk.

Necessity and challenges:

This project is essential to address the need for real-time traceability and optimization of water usage in the canning industry. By implementing innovative technologies, such as online sensors and a cloud platform for incident tracking, the CRS project aims to overcome challenges related to inefficient resource utilization, lack of real-time monitoring, and environmental sustainability.

Expected benefits:

  • Estimated water savings of 70-90%, leading to substantial economic savings for agri-food companies.
  • Elimination of chemical product usage, reducing occupational and environmental risks.
  • Reduction of approximately 150 tons of CO2 emissions.
  • Enhanced sustainability and environmental impact through water conservation and chemical reduction.
