E=MS²: Multi-Layered Energy Management Software for Hyper-Intelligent Routing
Goal:
The E=MS² project aims to revolutionize energy management within the food processing industry by significantly reducing energy costs and consumption while maintaining high standards of product quality. The platform collects data from a wide array of energy-related parameters and integrates forecasting technology to optimize energy routing. A unique feature of this project is its ability to use freezing installations as energy buffers under specific conditions, adding an innovative edge to energy management practices. Additionally, the project evaluates the impact on the upstream value chain, benefiting both energy suppliers and end consumers. By promoting self-consumption of locally generated renewable energy and encouraging the development of local renewable energy production assets, E=MS² enhances sustainability and ensures high reliability in food quality and safety for human consumption.
Necessity and Challenges:
Implementing the E=MS² project involves capturing data from a vast array of installations, machines, and sensors throughout the production plant. This requires a structured approach, leveraging the expertise of Ikologik and the functionalities of its industrial cloud platform. Additionally, data integration with the organization's existing software systems is necessary, a task for which Ikologik's MES-experience is invaluable. However, not all data is available when needed, necessitating the use of forecasting algorithms. PropheSea specializes in multi-science tools and artificial intelligence to transform data into actionable insights through self-learning algorithms. By combining the strengths of both companies, the project sets up dynamic energy management solutions.
Expected Benefits:
The E=MS² project promises substantial benefits for various stakeholders, contributing to a smarter and more sustainable agrifood sector.
Industrial Food Processors: Optimize energy usage, resulting in lower total energy costs and enhanced operational efficiency.
Energy Providers: Gain new insights into forecasted energy consumption by customers, which can improve their activity as energy traders. Although the impact might be small in isolated cases, widespread implementation could significantly benefit both suppliers and consumers.
Agrifood Sector: The project contributes to a more intelligent and sustainable way of working. A broader rollout in the future could have a significant impact across the sector.
Collaborating Partners: Ikologik and PropheSea will demonstrate the power of collaboration by combining their expertise. This project showcases how bringing together different strengths can lead to the development of remarkable intelligent solutions.
The E=MS² project exemplifies innovation in energy management within the food processing industry, setting a precedent for future advancements in sustainability and operational efficiency.
