HIGHFIVE 2nd call for innovation projects is open!

The 2nd Call (open 16.1. - 28.3.) is aimed at SMEs - food processing companies, digital solution providers & process technology providers, from the regions of the HIGHFIVE consortium - that are working on solutions to the challenges

  • Improved efficiency
  • Sustainable production & product
  • Improved food safety
  • Higher quality

and fit into one of the four thematic focus areas:

  • Sensors to monitor real time critical control parameters
  • Sensor integration and implementation
  • Smart data management - from data to information to action
  • Connectivity in food companies and in the food value chain

In this call, a budget of €514,600 is available to fund at least 9 SMEs with a maximum funding of €60,000/SME or €120,000/application, with a project duration of 12 months.

HIGHFIVE 1st call success story

With 58 ambitious applications submitted, the competition was fierce. After careful evaluation, the HIGHFIVE team decided to fund 9 of them, setting the stage for innovation and growth. The total financial support allocated to these promising SMEs is 865,400 €. The impact of the first Open Call reached out to SMEs across 7 different NUTS2 European regions. Within these regions, 16 SMEs were receiving financial support, making it clear that the HIGHFIVE project is all about promoting innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.

The HIGHFIVE consortium covers 39 NUTS2 regions from 9 EU countries. The HIGHFIVE actions aim to strengthen these regions via collaboration and sharing of success stories and guidelines. In doing so, HIGHFIVE will contribute to strengthening the European agri-food value chain and contributing to a more digital, sustainable and resilient agri-food sector in Europe. The HIGHFIVE consortium finds its origin in the existing Thematic Smart Specialisation Partnership (TSSP) ‘Smart Sensors 4 Agri-food’.
